CLIMATE

Bermuda’s location, 650 miles east of North Carolina, keeps it warmed by the Gulf Stream, but free of the tropics’ relentless heat. One rarely sees extremes of either hot or cold. The warmest months of the year are from May through mid-October when the high temperature ranges between 75 and 85 degrees. During the winter months, the high temperature averages 70 degrees.

GOVERNMENT

Bermuda is a British Overseas Territory, enjoying a high degree of self-rule. Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II acts as formal head of state and appoints a Governor to represent her in Bermuda.

CURRENCY

The Bermuda dollar equals the U.S. dollar, and the two currencies are accepted interchangeably. There is no sales tax on the island.
